CSBP Kwinana

CSBP, its subsidiaries, and joint ventures form the Chemicals and Fertilisers business units of Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers, part of Wesfarmers Limited’s Industrials division. Many of our products are essential to a variety of Australian industries including broadacre agriculture, iron ore and coal mining, nickel and gold extraction and construction. We export a number of our chemical products to supply international markets with industrial chemicals. Our head office and major chemical and fertiliser production complex is located in Kwinana, 40 kilometres south of Perth in Western Australia.

Within our scope for the project we were tasked with the Design, Supply, Fabrication, Installation and Commissioning of fire protection systems listed above and comprising the following codes:

  • A fully compliant Fire Detection and Occupant Warning System to AS1670.1
  • MASDS Aspirating Detection System and Control Equipment.
  • The challenges faced were compliance with all the requirements of CSBP specifications and the liaison with CSBP engineers and other trades to allow for the speedy delivery within tight time schedules for this project.
  • Integration of the system into the site wide fire detection system and graphics terminals.
  • The solutions were, overcome by providing full schedules of works and integrating this into the wider building program, providing a dedicated manager and an install and commissioning team that have extensive experience of working on the CSBP site.
  • Our commissioning engineers provided for this project were trained and worked for Ampac Fire and have a very in depth knowledge of the networking and smart graphics system on the CSBP site.
  • The level and expertise of our personnel made the networking and programming of the new graphics maps and system seamless and was achieved with no disruption to the day to day operations.
