Baptistcare Restoration Projects

Baptistcare have been offering residential care for over 40 years and currently operates 14 facilities spready throughout Western Australia. Firesafe were awarded the contract to upgrade the existing and install new Wet Fire systems to three Aged Care facilities under the Baptistcare banner located in Albany, Busselton and Manjimup.

Bethel Aged Care
Firesafe completed works at Bethel Aged Care located in Albany including the replacement of the existing sprinkler system within the Gallipolli wing, a new system within the Harbour House and upgrade to other existing areas to achieve compliance in accordance with AS2118.4. A combined fire sprinkler/hydrant suction and booster facility was installed to comply with the requirements of the local fire authority and AS2419.1

We are also installing new Dual Diesel pump set to service the fire sprinkler/fire hydrant system compliant with AS2941.


William Carey Aged Care
Firesafe completed works at William Carey Aged Care located in Busselton including installation of fire sprinklers to designated areas in accordance with AS2118. Also installation of Fire Sprinkler Control Valves complete with pressure/flow switches interfaced to the fire indicator panel for notification to the fire authorities.


Moonya Aged Care
Firesafe completed works at Moonya Aged Care located in Manjimup including installation of additional sprinkler systems within the existing facility in compliance with AS2118.4. New sprinkler control valves including pressure/flow switches interfaced to the fire indicator panel for notification to the fire authorities.

We are completed the installation of a new fire hydrant system including provision of associated trenching, backfilling, isolation valves, hydrants valves in accordance with AS2419.1.

Dual Diesel fire pump sets were also installed at this project in accordance with AS2941.

Throughout the project we overcame limited challenges:

  • Being a regional project, we have to ensure precise project programming and logistical management is followed to ensure materials are delivered to site to suit the project timelines and to avoid installation disruption.
  • To ensure both stages of the project are completed within the given project schedules we continually work with the client by way of open communication. We also involve all parties when planning critical stages of the installation to ensure continuity of existing services to the facility.
  • This communication is important due to the fire services having to remain operational at all times. The existing fire systems are required to remain “live” until the new systems are installed and commissioned.

We are always mindful that works associated with these upgrades are conducted within fully functioning aged care facilities, there Firesafe at all times work closely with other contractors, and staff to consider the safety of the residents at all times.
